Background
Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type Z (PTPRZ, also termed PTPζ) is a type I trans-membrane receptor tyrosine phosphatase that belongs to the R5 sub-family. It is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, localizing to the plasma membrane of oligodendrocytes, astrocytes and neural stem/progenitor cells.
