Background Information
ADCY5 belongs to the adenylate cyclase (ADCY) superfamily which is a group of glycoproteins regulating intracellular signaling (PMID: 35832555). ADCY5 is expressed only in neurons and all neurons express ADCY5 (PMID: 31970214). Gain-of-function mutations in ADCY5 is linked to a rare movement-onset disorder called ADCY5-related dyskinesia (PMID: 32627162).
