Background Information
ANXA2R (annexin A2 receptor) is a receptor protein that interacts with annexin A2 (ANXA2). ANXA2R plays significant roles in various diseases. For instance, in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), high expression of ANXA2R is associated with poor prognosis. A recent study published in Nature revealed that SP140 regulates interferon mRNA stability and antiviral immunity by inhibiting a novel regulator, RESIST, which decreases the stability of Ifnb1 mRNA and thereby suppresses interferon expression. Notably, RESIST is the orthologue of human ANXA2R. This finding highlights the crucial role of ANXA2R in cellular signaling and immune responses.
