Background Information
ARRDC3 (Arrestin domain-containing protein 3) is an adaptor protein involved in modulating the cell-surface abundance of adrenergic receptors and likely other G protein-coupled receptors. It participates in NEDD4-dependent ubiquitination, endocytosis, and subsequent degradation of activated ADRB2. ARRDC3 may recruit NEDD4 to ADRB2; alternatively, it may act as an adaptor that contributes to endosomal targeting of ADRB2 rather than serving as a primary mediator for NEDD4 recruitment to this receptor (PMID: 20559325; 21982743; 23208550).
