Background Information

CSTF2T is one of the three subunits of the mammalian CSTF complex, primarily expressed in germ cells. It regulates 3' cleavage and polyadenylation of pre-mRNA by recognizing a GU/U-rich element downstream of the proximal poly(A) signal (AAUAAA) of the pre-mRNA precursor. This protein possesses RNA-binding and guanylate transferase activity, and is crucial for regulating mRNA stability and translation efficiency.
