Background Information

Calmegin, belonging to the calreticulin family, is a testis-specific molecular chaperon of the endoplasmic reticulum playing a key role in spermatogenesis. Western blot analysis of mouse testis showed a single band with an apparent molecular mass of 93 kDa.
