Background Information
FCAMR, also known as CD351 or Fc α/µ receptor, is a type I transmembrane protein. Its extracellular region contains a short extracellular domain (EC) 1, an Ig variable (V) region-like EC2 domain and a stalk-like EC3 domain (PMID: 23182711). FCAMR is present in most B cells and macrophages and is a membrane surface protein that binds to the Fc fragment of IgA and IgM and induces endocytosis (PMID: 11779189). FCAMR may play a role in IgA- and IgM-mediated immune responses to microorganisms (PMID: 11062505).
