Background Information

GNA13 (G Protein Subunit Alpha 13) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17. It encodes the alpha subunit of the heterotrimeric G protein complex, which acts as a molecular switch to transmit signals from cell surface receptors to the interior of the cell. Under calorie restriction, GNA13 expression is dynamically regulated, thereby influencing alternative splicing-particularly in genes downstream of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling pathway-and contributing to the modulation of aging-related processes.
