  WB analysis of mouse small intestine using 87897-1-RR (same clone as 87897-1-PBS)

  mouse small intestine tissue were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 87897-1-RR (Galectin 2 antibody) at dilution of 1:20000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 87897-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  IHC staining of human tonsil using 87897-1-RR (same clone as 87897-1-PBS)

  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human tonsil tissue slide using 87897-1-RR (Galectin 2 antibody) at dilution of 1:1000 (under 40x lens). Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0). This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 87897-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  Biolayer interferometry (BLI) kinetic assays of 87897-1-RR against Human Galectin 2 were performed. The affinity constant is below 1 pM.

Background Information

Galectins are a class of carbohydrate-binding proteins implicated in multiple physiological processes including inflammation, immune responses, cell migration, autophagy and signal transduction (PMID: 29717004). Galectin-2 (Gal-2, also known as LGALS2) is a monocyte-derived carbohydrate-binding lectin; its upregulation correlates with reduced collateral arteriogenesis in patients with obstructive coronary artery disease (PMID: 25884209). Additionally, Gal-2 may interact with T cells, particularly in the setting of inflammatory bowel disease (PMID: 15356130).
