Background Information
Heat shock protein A12A (HSPA12A) is a distant member of the HSP70 family, which is widely expressed with highest levels in brain, kidney and muscle (PMID: 12552099). HSPA12A encodes a prosurvival pathway against endotoxemic liver injury. Particularly, glycolytic activity in cancer cells is regulated by HSPA12A. HSPA12A modulates glycolysis-derived lactate to affect HMGB1 lactylation and secretion from hepatocytes, by which changes macrophage chemotaxis and activation, and finally affects LI/R injury (PMID: 37441587).
