Background
Cadherin-17 (CDH17), also known as Liver-Intestine cadherin (LI-cadherin), is a member of the cadherin superfamily. Cadherin-17 is expressed in various tissues, including the intestine and liver, and plays a role in cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration in colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis. It binds and activates α2β1 integrin, promoting cell adhesion and proliferation. High expression of Cadherin-17 is significantly associated with liver metastasis and poor survival in patients with colorectal cancer.
