Background
C-type lectin domain family 4 member A (CLEC4A) is also known as DCIR, HDCGC13P, CLECSF6, and CD367. CLEC4A is C-type lectin receptor that binds carbohydrates mannose and fucose but also weakly interacts with N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) in a Ca2+-dependent manner. It is involved in regulating immune reactivity. In plasmacytoid dendritic cells, CLEC4A inhibits TLR9-mediated IFNA and TNF production.
