Background Information

KIAA1586, close to ZNF451, encodes a protein with similar N-terminal tandem SIMs, which has also shown elongase activity. ZNF451 is an E3 SUMO-protein ligase that facilitates UBE2I/UBC9-mediated SUMO2 modification of target proteins (PMID: 26524493, PMID: 35887358).
