  WB analysis of SK-MEL-30 using 87351-4-RR (same clone as 87351-4-PBS)

  SK-MEL-30 cells were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 87351-4-RR (MLANA antibody) at dilution of 1:1000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 87351-4-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  IHC staining of human skin using 87351-4-RR (same clone as 87351-4-PBS)

  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human skin tissue slide using 87351-4-RR (MLANA antibody) at dilution of 1:1000 (under 20x lens). Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0). This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 87351-4-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Background Information

Melan-A is a melanocyte differentiation antigen, recognized by autologous cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Melan-A is also called MART-1 (melanoma antigen recognized by T cells). The Melan-A/MART-1 gene encodes this protein, 20-22 kDa, associated with endoplasmic reticulum and melanosomes. The function of the protein is unknown. Melan-A, isolated as a melanoma-specific antigen, is a transmembrane protein, which is expressed in skin, retina and the majority of cultured melanocytes as well as in melanomas. Melan A is expressed in more than 85% of melanomas.
