Background
The cys-cys (C-C) motif chemokine ligand 8 (CCL8; also known as MCP2) is implicated in various inflammatory processes. In bone marrow transplantation, circulating CCL8 levels positively correlate with severity of graft-versus-host disease. In solid organ transplantation, however, the role of CCL8 is less clear.
