  1x10^6 thrombin-treated mouse peripheral blood platelets were surface stained with 0.25 ug CoraLite®488 Anti-Mouse P-Selectin/CD62P Rabbit RecAb (CL488-98302-2, Clone: 240766F5) (red) or 0.25 ug CoraLite® Plus 488 Rabbit IgG Isotype Control RecAb (CL488-98136, Clone: 240953C9) (blue). 1x10^6 untreated mouse peripheral blood platelets were surface stained with 0.25 ug CoraLite®488 Anti-Mouse P-Selectin/CD62P Rabbit RecAb (CL488-98302-2, Clone: 240766F5)(black, dashed). Cells were not fixed.

Background Information

P-selectin, also known as GMP140 or CD62P, is a transmembrane glycoprotein that mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. It is an adhesion molecule involved in the pathogenesis of inflammation, thrombosis, and oncogenesis. P-selectin is stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. Upon cell activation by agonists, P-selectin is transported rapidly to the cell surface.
