  Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Human brain cancer(Astrocitoma) slide using 98696-1-RR (PANX2 antibody) at dilution of 1:1000 (under 10x lens). Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0). This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 98696-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

  1x10^6 Caco-2 cells were surface stained with 0.25 ug Anti-Human PANX2 Rabbit RecAb (98696-2-RR, Clone: 251544A12) or 0.25 ug Isotype Control, and APC-Conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). Cells were not fixed. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 98696-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Background Information

Pannexins are glycoproteins that form functional single-membrane channels, which mediate ATP release in response to a variety of physiological and pathological stimuli (PMID: 33913372). The pannexin family consists of three members, namely PANX1, PANX2, and PANX3 (PMID: 22305965). PANX2 was initially predicted to be expressed selectively in the central nervous system, but was later shown to have broad expression across multiple tissues, including skin, skeletal muscle, eye, and colon (PMID: 15028292; 25505382; 25773474). PANX2 is involved in pathophysiological processes of neurological and cancer diseases (PMID: 19749789; 33913372; 39389335).
