Background Information
PFN3 also known as profilin-3, belongs to the profilin family, a family of actin-binding proteins that regulate the dynamics of actin in cells. PFN3 may be involved in spermatogenesis. (PMID: 11867228). Deletion or abnormal function of PFN3 may lead to male infertility, especially in disorders associated with abnormal sperm acrosome development (spherozoospermia)(PMID: 34869336).
