Background Information
Protein phosphatase, Mg2+/Mn2+ dependent 1K (PPM1K), is a member of the PPM family of Mn2+/Mg2+-dependent protein phosphatases. PPMiK, essential for cell survival and development, is targeted to the mitochondria where it plays a key role in regulation of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore.PPM1K is essential for the regulation and nutrient-induced activation of the branched-chain alpha-keto acid dehydrogenase complex (BCKD or BCKDC), which catalyzes the breakdown of branched-chain amino acids (BCAA).

Both reviewers used this antibody for Western Blot and reported strong performance. One noted a clear, sharp band at the predicted 40 kDa size in mouse heart. The other, using a 1:1000 dilution on total heart and liver lysates, highlighted that it was the only antibody among four tested that worked in total lysate rather than isolated mitochondria, with the target band easily detectable despite some higher molecular weight unspecific bands. Overall, users found it specific and reliable.

Lorenza (Verified Customer) (11-08-2019) | I have tried four different antibodies from different companies and this is the only one that works in total lysate (and not only in isolated mitochondria). All the others give an unspecific band at the same molecular weight. Works perfectly. There are some unspecific bands at higher molecular weights but the right bands is easily detectable.
