Background Information
Phospholipase C epsilon 1 (PLCE1) is also named as KIAA1516, PLCE and PPLC. TRAPPC10 (Cyclin-J) Belongs to the Cyclin family. PLCE1, which mediates small GTPases of the Ras superfamily through the activity of its Ras guanine exchange factor, is a bifunctional enzyme (PMID: 31867717). As the effector of heterotrimer and small G protein, it is involved in regulating cell growth, cell survival, T-cell activation, and actin organization (PMID: 32238860). PLCE1 is identified as a member of phospholipase family, and PLCE1 was upregulated in LPS-induced pneumonia cells (PMID: 35527658). PLCE1 is involved in the regulation of Rho GTPases and MAPKs in podocytes, and PLCE1 interacts with NCK2 but not with NCK1 (PMID: 32238860). PLCE1 is a multifunctional enzyme exhibiting phospholipase as well as RasGEF activities (PMID: 11022047).
