1X10^6 HeLa cells were intracellularly stained with 0.4 ug Anti-Human SCN10A/Nav1.8 (55334-1-AP) and CoraLite®488-Conjugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L) at dilution 1:1000 (red), or 0.4 ug Isotype Control. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with Flow Cytometry Perm Buffer. This data was developed using the same antibody clone with 55334-1-PBS in a different storage buffer formulation.

Background Information

Sodium channel protein type 10 subunit alpha (SCN10A, also known as Nav1.8) is predominantly expressed in neurons of the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and trigeminal ganglion (PMID: 8538791; 9169448). Nav1.8 markedly modulates nociceptor excitability, and thereby participates in pain‑processing mechanisms (PMID: 20367448; 11495938). Furthermore, functional SCN10A/Nav1.8 has been detected in intracardiac neurons, revealing a previously unrecognized function of this neuronal sodium channel in the modulation of cardiac electrical activity (PMID: 22723301).
