Background Information
Stabilin-1, also known as FEEL-1 or CLEVER-1, is a large type I transmembrane scavenger receptor primarily expressed on tissue-resident macrophages and lymphatic sinus endothelial cells. It functions in endocytosis, intracellular sorting, phagocytosis, and cell adhesion, and is highly upregulated in alternatively activated macrophages by IL-4 and dexamethasone. The protein localizes to endosomes and the trans-Golgi network, playing essential roles in immune regulation, pathogen clearance, and tissue homeostasis. (PMID: 16989725)
