Stability and Reconstitution

Stability and Storage Lyophilized proteins are stable for 1 year from the date of receipt if stored between (-20oC) and (-80oC). Upon reconstitution we recommend that the solution can be stored at (4oC) for short term or at (-20oC) to (-80oC) for long term. Repeated freeze thaw cycles should be avoided with reconstituted products.
Reconstitution Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile 1xPBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin (HSA).

Product Description

Animal-free Recombinant Human Noggin is expressed in an engineered human 293 cell expression system with serum- free, chemically defined media. The protein is a highly stable, authentically glycosylated, disulfide linked dimer. Recombinant Human Noggin is a 46 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer (120-10C) consisting of two 206 amino acid polypeptide chains. Monomeric glycosylated Noggin migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 28.0-33.0 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing conditions.

Background

Noggin is an inhibitor of bone morphogenetic proteins (BMP) signaling which is required for growth and patterning of the neural tube and somite. It is essential for cartilage morphogenesis and joint formation. Noggin inhibits chondrocyte differentiation through its interaction with GDF5 and GDF6 (PMID: 29497255; 29167826; 29094227; 28842965).
