Background Information

USP9Y (Ubiquitin-Specific Peptidase 9 on the Y chromosome) is a gene located in the male-specific region of the Y chromosome and is broadly expressed in male adult tissues. It encodes a functional deubiquitinating enzyme that plays a role in protein turnover (PMID: 39742627).
