Background Information
As a crucial element in the design of recombinant fusion proteins, linkers play an increasingly vital role in the construction of stable, bioactive fusion proteins (PMID: 23026637). GGGGS linker (G4S linker) is a flexible linker made of 4 glycine repeats followed by a serine amino acid (PMID:3045807). Due to its flexibility and resistance to proteases, GGGGS and its repeats are commonly used when engineering a protein, particularly in the construction of single-chain Fv (ScFv) domains expressed on the surfaces of CAR-T cells (PMID:23581628; 36874404). This antibody, raised against a synthetic peptide (GGGGSGGGGSGGGGS), can recognize G4S*2, G4S*3, G4S*4, and G4S*5.

Reviews
What customers say
The single review reports using this antibody as an ELISA coating reagent to detect a protein containing a (GGGGS)₄ motif at 1–10 µg/ml. The assay did not work, and technical support confirmed that (GGGGS)₄ detection is not supported, though (GGGGS)₃ detection is expected to perform well. Commercial 4GS antibodies from other vendors served as working positive controls. The reviewer rated the product 3 out of 5, reflecting the mismatch between the intended application and the antibody's validated capability.
The reviews below have been submitted by verified Proteintech customers who received an incentive for providing their feedback.
Daniela (Verified Customer) (10-27-2025) | The antibody was used as coating antibody for an ELISA setup (tested 1 µg/ml, 10 µg/ml)d: 1 µg/ml, 5 µ to quantify a protein containing a (GGGGS)4 motif (0.5 µg/ml followed by detection using a b2m-biotin antibody) which was not working at all. According to the tech support, detection of a (GGGGS)4 motif is not working, but it would be working good for a (GGGGS)3 motif which could not be tested due to lack of material. A 4GS antibody from CST and from Genscript were used as positive controls that were both working.
