  1x10^6 HeLa cells were intracellularly stained with 0.8 ug Coralite® Plus 488 Glnrs Polyclonal Antibody (CL488-12645)(red), or 0.8 ug CoraLite® Plus 488-conjugated Rabbit IgG control Rabbit PolyAb (CL488-30000) (blue). Cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with Flow Cytometry Perm Buffer (PF00011-C).

Background Information

GLnRS(glutaminyl-tRNA synthetase) is a class I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase. Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. The specificity of this reaction determines the fidelity of mRNA translation. At least 1 synthetase exists in the cytoplasm for each amino acid.GlnRS is present in eukaryotes but is absent from many prokaryotes, mitochondria, and chloroplasts, in which Gln-tRNA(Gln) is formed by transamidation of the misacylated Glu-tRNA(Gln)(PMID:8078941).
